More Fun Pictures

I couldn't resist sharing a few more pictures. These are from, hmm, let's see, 2 weekends ago when we got together with Uncle Mark, Aunt Karol, and cousins...Carolyn, Shawn & DeAnne and kids, Jason & Sarah and kids, and also Randy & Amy and kids. As you'll see, it's a growing group. Eli is one lucky little guy-he's going to grow up with a fun bunch of kiddos!

"The Cousins" (or second cousins, technically) From Left to Right: Caleb, Eli, Tessa, Tristan, Ashlynn, Cody, Trevon, Kaylee, Wade.

Our Happy Little Family

Eli's favorite "babysitter" Amy. (Also a rare smiling picture...who could have known it would be so difficult to get an infant to smile for the camera?!)

Enjoying a little snuggle time...

How could this not be the sweetest little boy in the world? (Okay, okay...maybe I'm just a teensy bit partial...)

Over the river through the woods, to Grandmother's house we go...

Actually, it's onto the ferry and across the Sound, to Grandma and Grandpa K's we go! Eli is getting rather used to car trips and even had a turn at the wheel while we waited for the ferry Friday night (Thanks to our buddy Shaun for the great photography!) We spent the weekend on the farm celebrating cousin Bella's 1st birthday and catching up. Another fun weekend!

Then and Now...

"The child must know that he is a miracle, that since the beginning of the world there hasn't been, and until the end of the world there will not be, another child like him."
-Pablo Casals

Eli really is our little miracle and I'm amazed that he is 6 months old today-that's half a year!! We've spent the last 6 months in awe; from studying his little fingers and toes the day he was born to gleefully watching him learn to pick up a toy. However, I never expected parenthood to come with so many conflicting emotions-like the way I ache for the time that is already past, and simultaneously wait with eager anticipation for what tomorrow will bring.

A picture says a thousand words, but these pictures only capture just a bit of the joy that Eli brings us.

THEN AND NOW...

Bella (6 months) meets Eli (1 day).

Eli (6 months) meets Wade (2 weeks).

Two More 1st's for Eli

Well, it's been a big week for Eli! On Sunday night, he had his first bite of "real food." He was definitely ready for solids and loved every bite of his oat cereal! Now if I can figure out how to get more of the food in his mouth and less on his face, bid, shirt, and high chair....oh, well guess these things take time! Shane took lots of pictures-I'll post them soon.

His other first has not been nearly as fun...Eli has his first cold. Poor guy! He has a terrible stuffy/runny nose and a bit of a cough. Luckily it doesn't seem to be getting worse at this time. However, he does NOT want to be put down-day or night. I was going to try to get him sleeping in his crib this week, but I feel so bad for him and I'm so nervous that he won't be able to breathe (I know-probably an irrational fear...) that he's been tucked in with me the last couple of nights. Hopefully by my next post, he'll be back to his old self!

A Night Out....

Ok, guess I'm always going a little behind with posting...these are photos from February, when Shane and I went out on our first 'date' since Eli's arrival. Eli enjoyed his first "night out" at Randy and Amy's, while Shane and I enjoyed eating a hot, uninterrupted meal at Olive Garden. It was fun for us to get a little time together and it was easy leaving Eli knowing he was in good hands (and lots of 'em!)

Tessa and Eli

"Yep, my toes are just as much fun here as they are at home."

Trevon and Eli

It's obvious that Eli had a really tough time without his Mommy and Daddy!

The People Have Spoken...

Thanks for voting on the last poll. No surprise, Eli won by a landslide! (Of course you'd want to see pictures of him...who wouldn't?!) So, until I get time to post some recent pictures, here's a BUNCH of older ones. These are Eli's four month pictures.

(Ok, can't figure out how to make this post as a link...so until then, I guess just cut and paste it into your address bar. Type in my first and last name where it asks for customer name. Let me know how to do it if you know!)

First Bite!

Just kidding! Though it looks like Eli is getting ready to have a nice big bite of lunch, he has yet to enjoy his first morsels of 'real food.' However, he is very interested in this whole business of eating and will probably have his first taste in the next few weeks. These photos are actually from a lovely luncheon we attended with some ladies from our fellowship group.

Welcome Wade!

Congratulations to Sarah and Jason on their newest arrival, Wade Nathanael, who was born on March 3! I'm sure Eli, Wade, and Tristan (Wade's big brother) will soon be able to get into all kinds of trouble together!
