Meet Emmett Andrew!
Emmett Andrew arrived on April 16! He followed his big brother's example and made a speedy entrance...I had my first contraction at midnight, my water broke at 1:30, we checked in at the hospital at 2:30 and Emmett greeted the world at 3:28 AM. He weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces and measures 20 1/2 inches long. He has a full head of beautiful blonde hair and reminds us a lot of Eli as a newborn!
Our midwife was amazing and the labor and delivery couldn't have gone better! The only hang up we had was the not one, but two times I passed out! I've never passed out before, but apparently the precipitous labor, followed by standing up to quickly to walk to the bathroom will do that to you! It was a strange experience for sure! Poor Shane, he said it scared him to death. But otherwise, everything went so well, they let us come home early!
My Mom arrived in the night to take care of Eli and brought him up to meet Emmett first thing. There is nothing that explain how it felt to watch Eli kiss his new baby brother for the first time. Eli is very much taken with Emmett and is wonderfully affectionate and gentle with him.
We've had lots of visitors, both at the hospital and here, so I'll try to post more pictures later.
